Henry W. Hagness, aged 79, passed away Sunday, April 25th, 2021, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Memorial Services will be held at a later date in Wheatland, Missouri with cremains in Sumner Cemetery in Wheatland, Missouri. Cremation rites are entrusted to Anderson Funeral Homes of Marshalltown. He was born to Henry W. Hagness and Laura Mason on September 10th, 1941, in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Henry grew up in Grand Forks and graduated from Central High School in 1959. Shortly after graduation he went into the Navy where he spent the next three years. After returning from the Navy, he married Patricia G. Day, and they had two daughters.

Henry worked many jobs while in his life. He worked for the City of Grand Forks, ND. JC Penney, City of Wheatland, MO, and then became self-employed as Hagness Plumbing in the Hickory County, Missouri area for over 30 years. He was a man of honesty, integrity, and hard work. When he gave you his word and a handshake, he would do whatever he needed to do to get the job done and done right.

Surviving are two daughters, Michelle Hagness Busick (Chris) of Morrison, Iowa and Lisa Hagness of Wheatland, Missouri. Two grandchildren, Laura Bean Paris (Jesse) of Morrison, Iowa and Rebekah Carson (Cory) of Ravena, New York, five great-grandchildren and a brother, Tom Hagness of Grand Forks, ND. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Leona Simmons and Genevieve Como.

In lieu of flowers please send a donation to an animal shelter of your choice. He was a great lover of all dogs and would be extremely happy to know they are being taken care of by the ones who loved him most.

Susan Hanson Sand
On January 1st  2010 at 4:50pm God called to rest the beautiful wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Susan Jean Hanson Sand of Golden Valley. Susan was born May 22, 1941 in Grand Forks to Marguerite and Harold Hanson. Susan attended public school and graduated from the University of North Dakota with a degree in Elementary Education. She began her teaching career at Cold Spring Elementary in Minnetonka, and then Alvarado, followed by Edgewood, Sunny Hollow and Basswood Elementary Schools in Osseo Area Schools Dist. 279; and retired after 36 years. She lived her life with grace, unwavering in her devotion and love for her family and friends. She has been a fighter, trying to stave off pancreatic cancer for the past 9 months and ultimately infections and pneumonia the past 3 weeks.

Susan enjoyed golfing, dancing, playing piano, humor and, for the last 3 winters, her home in Tucson. Susan is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Edwin of over 44 years, son Greg of Golden Valley and grandsons Jack and Harrison, son Ryan, daughter-in-law Mariana and granddaughter Anabel of Tucson, sister Mary of Denver, and Susan's sweet dog, Lily. Susan was always the bright ray of light for our family but now we must say goodbye to her beauty and live with the memories.  The family wishes to thank the staff and caregivers at Fairview University Hospital. No memorial service is planned. In lieu of flowers or gifts, her wishes were for donations to be sent in her memory towards pancreatic cancer research at Masonic Cancer Center, University of Minnesota, c/o Minnesota Medical Foundation, PO Box 64001, University of Minnesota, Saint Paul, MN 55164-0001.

Jerry W. Honea
Jerry Honea of Pelican Rapids, MN, age 80, passed away July 4, 2021, at Sanford Health Fargo. Born June 16, 1941, in Little Rock, AR, Jerry was a graduate of the Central High School class of 1959. He attended University of North Dakota and Moorhead State College. Jerry married Mary Kittle of East Grand Forks in 1967; they were married for 46 years until her passing in 2014.
Jerry modeled a strong work ethic for his family, selflessly employed as fireman/brakeman for Great Northern Railroad, staff development and manager for Country Kitchen restaurants, and finally locomotive engineer for Burlington Northern Railroad where he worked until his retirement in 2007. Jerry was a member of North Dakota Army National Guard, attaining rank of 1st Lieutenant.
Jerry enjoyed road trip vacations with his family and visited 39 states and four Canadian provinces in their many travels. The beauty of the  Hawaiian Islands captured his heart; he and Mary vacationed on the island of Maui every winter for over 20 years. After retiring they spent summers with family at their home on Lake Lida, MN. He had a brilliant mind, and was a skilled trap shooter, artist and Yahtzee player. He will be remembered as a man who was most proud of his family, a father whose constant love was deep and quiet, and a papa whose devotion was palpable.
Sharon (Sherry) Lee Hough Burton, 75, of East Grand Forks, MN, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.

Sherry was born December 22, 1941 in Bremerton WA, the daughter of Earl and Marian (Hagness) Keller.  She grew up and attended schools in Grand Forks, graduating from GF Central in 1959. She married Dale Burton on January 12, 1963, of East Grand Forks, MN.  Together they made their home in East Grand Forks.

Sherry worked at Griffiths in the credit office and also ran a daycare from her home while raising her four children.  She was an avid Fighting Sioux hockey fan, enjoyed going to
grandchildren's game, Friday night dinners, going to Florida in March, card club, camping, casinos, country music shows and decorating her home for all holidays.

She is survived by her Children, Brenda (Gene) Vasek of Sanford, FL, Brian (Patty) Burton of EGF, Lori (Jeff) Westrem of EGF and Carrie (Jeff) Clemetson of Grand Forks; grandchildren Bryan Vasek, Blake Vasek, Jordan Vasek, Heather (Christian) Faust, Casey Burton, Andrew Westrem, Jared Westrem and Karlee Jo Westrem, Logan Clemetson, Landen Clemetson; great-grandchild, Lucas; sisters, Laurie (Gary) Siemens of Palm Desert, CA, and Barb (Jim) Brodahl of Hanna, WY.

Sherry is preceded in death by her parents; husband Dale and sister, Judy.
